Library Rules

Library Rules:
1. Visit the library.
2. Take care of the materials.
3. Be respectful of yourself, your teachers, and your peers.
4. Food and drink must be consumed elsewhere.
5. Repeat as necessary.

Circulation Policy

Generally, the rule is this: If you borrow it, bring it back!
If you're wondering when to bring it back, check this out:

Fiction/Nonfiction: 3 week check out period
Reference: Overnight check out only.
Magazines: In library use only

Must have a valid school I.D. to check out books and materials. Items may be renewed unless another student or teacher has requested the item.

Overdue Policy:

10 cent fee for each day the item is late. Check out privileges are suspended until fee is paid, book returned, or other arrangements have been made with the librarian.

Weeding Policy

The library shelves are jammed packed,
and it's time to get rid of the books that are whack.
Find a book that's worn, tattered, or torn?
One that was written before you were born?
What about a gaming book introducing PacMan?
Or a reference book from a far away land?
Fear not!  Just bring it to the librarian's desk,
and we'll consider your simple request --
To cleanse the library of books that are old,
and make room for new ones, to be treated like gold.
Each section will be scanned, at least every two years,
to keep the library current, so please calm your fears!
We'll work hard to keep our library good as new,
after all, the library is here for one reason:  YOU!

Internet Acceptable Use Policy

The use of the internet in the library is for academic purposes only.
You must have a valid school I.D. to use the computers.
Use of computers for gaming, social networking, cyberbullying, or any other activity that violates Lafayette Parish School Board policy will result in a revocation of technology privileges.
